Sun In Libra - Perfect Balance

Poet Rumi Sun in Libra
'If you are irritated by every rub, how will your mirror be polished?'

wrote thousands of poems while dancing - founded in his memory the 'whirling' dervishes Mevlevi order
The Sun traveller moves country on the 23rd September 2012, as it does every month. This time it leaves the swaying wheat fields of Earthy Virgo, taking a break from all that necessary Virgo hard work and gets some breathing space in the cool, clear fresh air of Libra. It will make a pleasant change from just having our nose to the grindstone or stuck in a mountain of paperwork we experienced at the very borders of Virgo countryside, just before leaving.(Sun in Virgo Diamonds In The DetailsIt feels good to catch our breath and just look out at the horizon, to breathe in new perspectives, release some of those built up tensions and get a really good balanced view.
There is a shift to the slightly indefinable when we are here in Libra, also most welcome after certainty upon certainty the Sun traveller encountered last month, where whatever was in front of your eyes or at the forefront of your mind demanded all your attention. Here there is a drift to the less tangible, a shift to the realm of the idea and the ideal.
Writer Oscar Wilde Sun in Libra
'Beauty is a form of genius - is higher, indeed, than genius, as it needs no explanation.'

As we all journey with the Sun, moving into Libra's 'Beauty Palace' we find life takes a different turn and notice the different feel from the scene we just passed through. The dissection, the relentless taking apart, the urgency to improve has to move over slightly in order for us take in a more overall picture. We want to see how the pieces can fit together beautifully after a period of just taking them all apart.
Writer Ursula K Le Guin Sun in Libra
'Technology in our age has surpassed the predictions of early sci-fi writers, yet the understanding of how to live together harmoniously seems light-years away. We must take seriously the task of imagining — and endlessly reimagining — our world.'

How can we all live together more peacefully? How can all people be fairly served? How can we harmonise all the disparate parts of our family, peers, office, country, world? How can we all unite? Can it be fair and allow justice for everyone? Can we fight for a better world without doing any harm?
These questions are the essence of Libra and along with The Sun Traveller, this is where we find ourselves for this next month. These questions are all around us now, in the air, in the very spaces we inhabit and whether we like it or not. We will all, at some level ponder or answer and deliberately evade or debate these very questions.
Libra needs a balance to contemplating or dealing with the heavy issues of justice and fairness under consideration. Luckily, Libra also loves to party. Libra revels in being a lounge lizard and delights in the soiree.
Libra also loves a good bon mot or two and is continually enthralled by beauty. Dish the dishes, leave a lot of that to Virgo, lets take time to really indulge here. Chocolates, romance, art, culture, match-making, a glass or two of a special tipple, style watching, or style making, in any order they arrive, will be just fine.
Writer/Poet/Artist e e cummings Sun in Libra
'who knows if the moons a ballon coming out of a keen city in the sky-filled with pretty people? and if you and I should get into it, if they should take me and take you into their ballon, why then we'd go up higher with all the pretty people, than houses and steeples and clouds go sailing away and away sailing into a keen city which nobody's ever visited, where always it's Spring and everyones in love and flowers pick themselves'

Libra is a Cardinal sign and will require action so where is the effectiveness in all of this decadence? Libra is also an Air sign and air can be impossible to get a hold on sometimes but yet it is easily felt and is highly vital. Air is all around us and we sometimes only know we really need it when its gone. Air carries, it transports, it circulates, it delivers.
Poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge Sun in Libra 'Day after day, day after day,We stuck, nor breath nor motion; As idle as a painted ship Upon a painted ocean..water, water everywhere nor any drop to drinkThe Ancient Mariner, Watchet Harbour, Somerset, only a few miles from Hinkley Nuclear Power station
the dead albatross has come to mean a psychological burden, probably referred to Coleridge's addiction to opium, conservationists have their own symbolism
Air is never static, even when appearing calm and it also conveys static electricity and lightening. A lot of our continued existence is sky born as soil, seeds and pods have colonised the earth, just as sail boats, gliders, helicopters and parachutes have and continue to be carried on wind currents and breezes leading to exploration and cross-fertilisation of ideas, genes, and cultures.
Writer Miguel de Cervantes Sun in Libra
his literary hero of hopeless causes is Don Quixote who set out to revive chivalry but just 'tilting at windmills' (attacking imaginary enemies) who he saw as giants
Air can also become not only really fetid but very poisonous. What can we expect then as we journey with the Sun traveller into Libra air with this potential for poisonous gases and lightening strikes? Well this very environment style exists on the planet Venus, Libra’s ruling planet. Before we dive into the deep, dark water to escape from it, we are not in Scorpio yet, we should take another look around for other life affirming qualities. Looking at the sky at daybreak or watching the drama of a sunset from a distance, observing the clouds shift and reform, we can get an idea, a picture forms, we can imagine, project onto or try to adapt and formulate something new. Look hard enough and you can see the storm clouds coming in from a distance so you can be cautious and take action. Again remember not all gases are bad after all. The combination of hydrogen and oxygen brings us to water, the next sign along the zodiac that the Sun will travel towards. Meanwhile breathe in the cool air………
Writer Lewis MacAdams Sun in Libra
'As soon as anything is cool, its cool starts to vaporise..when cool began it was a kind of revenge of the powerless'.. its a universal high five
I feel poisoned, scourged, a citizen of a penal colony. I set out to be a hero and a legend and ended up a lobbyist (LA river activist)
Libra energy pours down to us through the Sun’s rays, we soak it up whether we are indoors, outdoors, sleeping or waking, we are saturated in its diplomatic, fair, charming, soothing and at times slippery, superficial, balm.
Poet/Writer Arthur Rimbaud Sun in Libra
I went off with my hands in my torn coat pockets;My overcoat too was becoming ideal;
I travelled beneath the sky, Muse! and I was your vassal;Oh dear me! what marvellous loves I dreamed of!
My only pair of breeches had a big hole in them.– Stargazing Tom Thumb, I sowed rhymes along my way.
My tavern was at the Sign of the Great Bear.– My stars in the sky rustled softly.
And while, rhyming among the fantastical shadows,
And I listened to them, sitting on the road-sides On those pleasant September evenings while I felt drops
Of dew on my forehead like vigorous wine; I plucked like the strings of a lyre the elastics
Of my tattered boots, one foot close to my heart!
The zone's presided over by Libra in our lives will start to undergo their annual charm offensive. If you have planets ‘tuned in’ to receive Libra energy then they too will get a lift. Mercury in Libra will welcome this style of thinking (Mercury in Libra Postcards From A Refined Mind) If you are Venus in Libra, the way you relate and how you receive love and money will get a boost and feel slightly more buoyed and chipper. If you are Mars in Libra the way your marshal your troops to attack or defend will come into play.(Mars in Libra Land

Sun in Libra time, the end of September-October, is about keeping our balance and perhaps also keeping our distance if we suspect conflict and discord.
Political theorist writer Hannah Arendt Sun in Libra
her work deals with the nature of power, politics & authority
She suggested that evil is simply a function of thoughtlessness, a tendency of ordinary people to obey orders and conform to mass opinion without a critical evaluation of the consequences of their actions and inaction and therefore 'the banality of evil'
Especially in tense times such as around the full moon on 29th September 2012, which feeds the Sun/Lunar into the volatile tension of the trigger-happy Cardinal Square (). Smooth ruffled feathers by keeping cool, murmuring sweet nothings and fill your heart with what you find beautiful. A picture of a sunset, a country house, a loved one, a work of art - hold it there, even if only in your minds eye and let it act as a counter-balance. Maybe use this time to circulate, be sociable, even network people who can facilitate your goals. Send out or accept invitations, gather people around you who ignite your interests or who simply amuse or delight you. Get talking, get debating and then let’s get the party started. Politics will be high on many people’s agendas in the heart of Libra time, whether in the family, office, factory, county, state, federation or union. Conferences, one-to-ones, meetings and get-togethers will increase and be scenes of much needed airing of differences, maybe similarities and agenda-setting will become obvious. We will and should all pay much closer attention to what everything looks like and how it ‘appears’ as despite our intellectual or sophisticated conditioning there is nothing which increases our receptivity to a message than if we find the ‘messenger’ attractive - non more so than in this Libra heart time.
Libra would much rather avoid 'sweating the small stuff' or as the saying goes on my fridge magnet, ‘diet what diet? Let's surrender to the romantic and the enchanted so that we may refresh our hearts and minds for a while.
